Sounds like my ex-boyfriend...
SO this is going to be a long one--brace yourselves (see title)
Fall Break Part 1: Amsterdam
After waking up at the buttcrack of dawn we trek to the bus stop and get on the coach that is to drive us to the Netherlands. After crossing through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands--having our passports checked in none of these countries--we make it to Amsterdam and our lovely B&B which had beds that didn't feel like tables, bathrooms that you can cross in more than 1 step, and the best part--a television. We watched some Dutch TV for a bit (Spin City with Dutch subtitles) before heading into the city for dinner. We wandered around and explored for a few hours--met a guy from Australia who just kinda started hanging out with us--then went back and passed out for a much needed sleep.
Woke up met up with group for tour of a Cheese and Clog Factory and when I say factory I do mean two rooms on in a house a farm that make cheese and clogs. A gigantic dutch man (because the dutch are all giants...seriously, I felt dwarfed) showed us around and had Maddie go up and help him make a clog for which she was rewarded with a Clog Trophy. Then we went to a windmill then back into the city to the Van Gough museum, the Heineken Brewery Experience--put Guinness to shame. Then we went to get some lunch and ran into too many people from NYU--including those who I didn't even know were studying abroad...just happened to be wandering the streets of Amsterdam. Amsterdam, side note, is gorgeous. Lots of canals.
Headed to Brugges the next morning (it's Sunday now) and Brugges is the most well preserved medieval city in Europe or something like that. That too was amazing to see. Climbed to the top of a Bell Tower and looked around.
Bells rang. Not cool.
Broke my camera. Not cool.
Had some cranberry beer and some chocolate beer. Cool.
Then we got on the bus to go back to London where my passport was checked for the first time on the journey.
Arrived in London around 9pm Sunday night--wrote a speech, packed a new bag, figured out how to get to the airport, then went downstairs at 4:45am Monday to meet up with Maddie, Mikestetz, and Evan to go to Vienna. Top ten most miserable experience of my life = traveling to Vienna. Plane finally lands and with some guess and check we make it to our hostel that was actually a palace outside of the city but looking over the city. Our view was insane! So of course we all immediately pass out for the next four or five hours. Wake up--dinner time. Best restaurant. Best. Went to bed earlier than I have since middle school. You'd think not cool, but Cool.
Tuesday walk around Vienna. Find Christmas market of youthful happiness. Cathedral turned into giant Advent Calendar. Saw a lot of things I remembered from the Romania Trip. Missed the Romania Team. Bought a hat. Saw some Roman Ruins. Found some hot dogs. Ate some ice cream. NEXT day. Wake up kinda late. Went to Natural History Museum. Took some pictures with some taxidermy. Watched a snake devour a live mouse. Won a slap bet with Maddie. Ate some more schnitzel of awesome. Evan got mad at the ice cream guy--so did not get ice cream. Ran into more NYU people on the subway. Went back, slept, woke up, got to the airport (HATE), got on the wrong train, almost went to Brighton, finally got to King's Cross.
Thursday make an spectacular salad. Watch Walk Hard.
Friday wake up, see rain, decide not to leave NIDO, order pizza, watch 5 hours of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Mikestetz.
Saturday people start to trickle back in from the various countries they were visiting.
Sunday Steelers piss me off.
Monday--crap school again.
Tuesday--crap class registration...why? Oh, because I come back in A MONTH.
Wednesday--crap its 8:30am, I just finished my paper, and I have class in an hour. That was an awesome day, let me tell you.
Thursday--NATALIE! Natalie's here guys, be jealous.
Friday--Gross, make-up classes. Then ULU with Natalie, Maddie, and Snphia where we for some reason got our girlie on and talked about super girlie things for a really long time. Weird.
Saturday--today--SARAKELLER! Cause before you were jealous but now, oh NOW that green-eyed monster is just camped out in your room now. Yeah.
BWTS: Benwolfe does not have Sarakeller visiting him.
Weather: yesterday wore rainboots all day--no rain. TODAY didnt even have a hood--poured.
Sitings: red light district?
Update: Thanksgiving is next week and I come home in a month. Get psyched.
