London Calling
So last we checked I had bought a wolf sweater. This fact remains true. It has been serving me well.
Friday Mikestetz's friends came into town and my wolf sweater was bought. After shopping round two, we all gathered to go to ULU which is our student union. Turns out ULU's bar is quite friendly towards poor people. Why we have not taken advantage of this for the past two months remains a mystery.
Saturday I woke up obnoxiously early and got some "work" done--or went on facebook, wrote some emails, and played infinite games on sporcle. When this entertainment ceased to amuse me, I decided to break my rainy day rule and venture outside so Sophia and I went to get Indian food down the street. It was there over chicken kurma and chickpeas that we decided to walk and climb St Paul's Cathedral. The walk was long but nice and we got lost along the way but it didn't really matter on account of the company. We reached St Pauls and spent a little too long trying to find the stairs to the galleries which turn out to be almost right when you walk in.
We walked up the 300 some stairs to the Whispering Gallery where you can stand on opposite ends, whisper into the wall, and hear the person on the other side. It was there that we witnessed a proposal. Puts all other proposals to shame. They thought they were being all sneaky and secretive but Snophia and I were totally creeping all over them. Whatever, it was adorable. We then embarked on the remaining 200 some stairs to the top. Once there we could see the city which is gorgeous even when overcast. It's my favorite spot in London--the top of St Paul's. We could also see NIDO from the top which makes sense cause I'm pretty sure you can see NIDO from space.
Trying to walk down was fun because every 10 steps or so of the 568 (?) this group of German tourists would stop to take a picture...come now, you are in a stairwell, all of these are going to look the same.
Sunday the Steelers surprisingly won against Favre and his annoyingness. But the sports cafe was PACKED with Pats fans on account of the game was in London Hey-O! THe streets were crawling with jerseys it was unreal.
